Liebster Award

Liebster Award

I woke up this morning to learn that I have been honored with the Liebster Award by Happy Little Feet.  This has just made my day!  The blogger community feels like my second family, and it would be easy to be discouraged by the “Negative Nelly’s” without the support of this family.  So, thanks again and here goes nothing:
The Rules:

1.      Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2.      Answer the 11 questions the person giving the award has set for you.
3.      Create 11 questions for the people you will be giving the award to.
4.      Choose 11 people to award and send them a link to your post.  Go to their page and tell them.
5.      No tag backs.
11 Facts about me
  1. I’m actually very shy, so I overcompensate with sarcasm and wit.
  2. I love to read!
  3. I might save my Kindle in a fire before my children…kidding…probably.  I mean they are old enough to save themselves.
  4. I am an accountant by trade, but I suck at all things math.
  5. I say inappropriate things when I’m nervous or uncomfortable.
  6. Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
  7. I hate to exercise.
  8. Tulips are my favorite flower.
  9. Alcide from True Blood is #1 on my “get out of jail free” list (the list of celebrities you have permission to sleep with if you ever get the chance and your spouse can’t get upset)
  10. If I was homeless, I’d live in a Target store.
  11. I’d love to drive an Audi as my mid-life car
MY 11 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER:
1) What is your biggest pet peeve?
This is hard.  I have so many.  I would have to say punctuality is big for me.  Nothing fires me up more than when someone is late.  It’s like saying that your time isn’t as important as their time.  I’m getting angry right now thinking about it!
2) What food can you not live without?
Cheese.  I love cheese.  And bread would be a close second.
3) What is your favorite book? I am also looking forward to this one.
My all-time favorite is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  The Harry Potter series is the only book/series I’ve read multiple times.  My most recent favorite would either be Room by Emma Donoghue or Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  If I could make a living just reading books, I would do it.
4) Best part of your day?
I love sitting in my bed at the end of the day reading a good book before I go to sleep knowing that all my kids are home, happy and sleeping.
5) What is your favorite season?
Winter for sure.  I love cold weather.
6) Do you like twitter or face book better?
Twitter.  Although, this is a fairly new obsession for me, and I’m still trying to work out the kinks.
7) How long have you been blogging?
A few years, but only consistently in the last few months.
8) Do you like to bake or cook?
No.  And I’m spectacularly bad at it when I try.

9) Do you like to exercise?

No.  I’m convinced I was born without endorphins.  Exercising makes me tired, cranky and hungry.

10) What is your favorite color?
Cranberry.
11) Do you like math?
lol. NO.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE FUTURE LIEBSTERS
1) What was your favorite food when you were a child?
2) What is your favorite quote?
3) What is your favorite book? I am also looking forward to this one.
4) What is your favorite body part?
5) What is your favorite song/band?
6) If you could be a kitchen appliance, what would you be?
7) If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
8) What was the last movie/TV show that made you cry?

9) What would you name the autobiography of your life?

10) Do you ever get mistaken or get told you look like a celebrity.  If so, which one?

11) If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

  1. Wow! Thank you! I’m very flattered for two reasons: 1) Because I think you’re a great writer 2) Because I think the other blogs you chose are great too, which means you must have good taste! 😉 Oh, I also hate exercise, and I also can never spell exercise. I had to retype it like three times before my spell check finally released me from its red underliney wrath. Oh, and I too say inappropriate things when I’m nervous. I also talk to much when I’m nervous. This is not a good combination.

    • You’re so welcome! I do think you are great 🙂 I use google as a spell checker, also for medical advice. I get horrible verbal diarrhea when I’m nervous, so in addition to saying inappropriate things, I can’t shut up. It’s horrible. lol…oh well.

  2. I’m with you on cheese, exercise, winter … but I am most with you on your favorite part of the day. I couldn’t agree more. Thank you so much for this compliment. It’s always nice to be recognized by a fellow writer. In truth, my kids and (now let’s be even MORE truthful) my laziness keep me from getting to these little exercises, but I promise I’ll try. 🙂

P.S. I hope you get to drive around eating cheese in a cranberry Audi with that True Blood dude to Target to buy tulips during the Christmas season some day.

  3. Thank you so much for the award! I truly appreciate and I am happy to know that you enjoy my posts!

You know I might just pick a Target to live in too! Although, I could also pick a Sam’s Club and live off of the free samples!!

    • I enjoyed your DIY bathroom blog. There are so many rooms in my house that need a major makeover. You’ve inspired me…maybe, I don’t know, I love it when it’s done, but if I’m honest I’ll admit, I find DIY kind of a beating, and I’m super jealous of easy other people make it look. Pinterest is the life in my head, maybe someday… Keep up the great work!

      • Thank you so much! DIY is definitely not easy — I’ve literally had “take shower doors down” for weeks and weeks…and they’re still up and driving me nuts. With how ugly that bathroom is, literally ANYTHING I do to it would be an improvement! In my pre-baby days I was totally a weekend warrior that would destroy house projects as quick as possible. But now that I have Jack it forces me to relax a little more. I even took a nap last Saturday — which is part of the reason why “take shower doors down” is on my schedule again this weekend… =)

  5. You crack me up. I love cheese and bread too. I’m shy too. Maybe we can hold hands and shout our witty sarcasms to the world.
